# About Consentl

Consentl is a cookie consent and privacy request platform for websites and online shops. It is built and operated by STL EMBEDED CREATIONS SRL, a software company in Cluj-Napoca, Romania.

## Why we build Consentl

Privacy laws such as the GDPR and the ePrivacy Directive ask websites to get a real choice from visitors before tracking them. Many tools make that choice hard for visitors or hard to set up for site owners. We build Consentl so that a fair, clear banner takes minutes to set up and keeps working as the site and the rules change.

## How we work

-   Privacy by design: the banner blocks non-essential scripts until the visitor agrees, and a consent record keeps only what is needed to prove the choice.
-   Hosted in the EU: the dashboard, the API and the consent records run in DigitalOcean's Frankfurt region.
-   Accessible: the banner is designed to meet WCAG 2.2 AA, with full keyboard support and screen reader labels.
-   Light: the loader is one small script that browsers cache; the banner's interface loads separately, after it.
-   Plain words: Consentl helps you comply; your legal duties stay yours, and we say so.

## Where Consentl works
