Consentl for PrestaShop
The Consentl module for PrestaShop 8 and 9: the banner first in <head>, ready-made privacy pages, shortcodes and widgets, multistore and the official GDPR module.
- Loader first in <head>
- Yes
- Download
- consentl-prestashop-1.1.1.zip · Version 1.1.1 · 269 KB · SHA-256
The Consentl module connects your PrestaShop shop to Consentl. It inserts the loader right after
the opening <head> tag, adds a "Cookie settings" link and ready-made pages for the cookie
declaration, privacy requests and the EU withdrawal form, and provides shortcodes and a theme
widget. Texts, colours, regions and consent records are managed in the Consentl dashboard.
Requirements
- PrestaShop 8.0 to 9.x, PHP 7.2 or later. Classic, Hummingbird and any theme that renders
<head>normally. - A Consentl account (Free plan available).
Install
- Download the module zip from Downloads.
- In the back office, go to Modules → Module Manager → Upload a module and drop the zip.
- Click Configure.
Connect your site
On the module page, click Connect with Consentl. Sign in or create a free account, pick or
create the site, and you return to the module page with "Connected" and the key saved for the shop
context you were editing. You can also paste the site key (sk_ + 24 characters).
Multistore: settings are saved for the context selected in the shop switcher (all shops, a group or one shop). Usually each shop has its own site key.
Configure
| Setting | Default | Notes |
|---|---|---|

| Footer link to cookie settings | Yes | Adds "Cookie settings" to the footer |
| Link in the customer account | Yes | "Privacy and cookies" → privacy request page |
Pages, shortcodes and widgets
- Ready-made pages:
/module/consentl/page?type=cookies,?type=privacyand?type=withdrawal(with friendly URLs). Link them from your footer or CMS pages. - Shortcodes in CMS pages and product descriptions:
[consentl_declaration],[consentl_request],[consentl_withdrawal]. - Theme templates:
{widget name='consentl' type='declaration'}(orrequest,withdrawal).
The withdrawal form needs the Pro plan or higher and must be switched on in the dashboard.
Check that it works
- View the page source: the first element in
<head>is the Consentl loader withl=set to the page language. - The footer has a "Cookie settings" link that opens the preferences.
- With Combine, compress and cache (CCC) turned on, the loader is still first and unchanged.
Other modules
- Official GDPR module (psgdpr): Consentl registers with it. Consentl stores no customer data in PrestaShop (consent records are pseudonymous and kept in your Consentl account), so customer export returns no rows and deletion succeeds. psgdpr's consent checkboxes keep working.
- Other cookie banner modules (for example lgcookieslaw, cookiesplus, iqitcookielaw) are detected and a warning is shown. Disable their banner to avoid two banners.
- Google modules follow Google Consent Mode, which Consentl sets before their tags on Pro and higher, with Consent Mode switched on in the dashboard.
For developers
Consentl::isAllowed('marketing') reads a stored decision from the consentl cookie, not region
defaults, and full-page caches are not re-evaluated. Prefer
<script type="text/plain" data-consentl="analytics">…</script>.
Limitations
- If a cache or optimisation module rewrites the page after PrestaShop's output hook, the loader may
not be first: use the displayHeader placement or add the tag at the top of your theme's
head.tpl. - Scripts that other modules or the theme print before the loader run before Consentl.
- When you uninstall the module, all its settings are removed. Your consent log stays in your Consentl account.
